**EFFECTIVE  JANUARY  23, 2023**

In an attempt to help with traffic safety the Oshkosh Police Department is implementing the following change on the corner of Bismarck Street and Eagle Street:  

If you are going East on Bismarck you are required to take a right hand turn.  
Police officers will be out to assist with this new change.
 

~ Please Slow Down ~

The corner of Bismarck and Eagle Streets can be especially dangerous for our students before and after school.  

Please slow down and watch for pedestrians.

Tipler/ALPs students will be completing the Wisconsin Forward Exams during the week of April 10-14.  Please make every attempt to be sure your student is at school during this important testing time.  Thank you!

Student Council Fundraiser

Student council will be hosting a fundraiser for the Oshkosh Area Humane Society April 3-6!
Bring items to the office during homeroom all next week to support our local animal shelter.  The grade level that donates the most items will earn a movie and snack afternoon. Thanks for your support!

The Tipler Jazz Band will be participating in the Jazz JAM (Jazz Appreciation Month) Concert held on
Tuesday, April 18th at 7pm
in the Oshkosh North High School Auditorium.

FIRST Lego League Challenge

Dear Students and Parents,

We are currently accepting applications for the FIRST Lego League (FLL) Tipler and ALPs for the 2023-2024 competition season.  FIRST is a non-profit organization devoted to helping young people in grades 4-8 to discover and develop a passion for science, technology, engineering and math.  Participants will learn how to master skills and concepts to aid in learning science and technology through innovative projects and robotics competitions while gaining valuable career and life skills.  For more information about FLL please visit their website at www.firstinspires.org/robotics/fll.
 
The FLL Season Kick-off event will be in early August (date to be announced) and the team typically meets for one full week in August, and additional nights as needed, depending on coach availability. Occasional summer field trips may be scheduled and are not mandatory but we hope everyone can participate.  

The meeting time for the Tipler/ALPs teams during the school year will all be after school in Tipler’s Tech Ed room (basement, below the gym), on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00– 6:00 pm, with additional dates as needed to prepare for competition.
 
The Wisconsin Regional competitions are in mid-November-December, with additional tournaments if the team advances. Sectionals are typically in late December, and the State Championship is typically in late February. Tournament dates will be announced by Wisconsin FLL later this fall.

Both two and three-dimensional artwork from art students from this school year will be on display.  Come see the talents and creativity of the 4th - 8th grade art students.

Arts Night

The Art Show will be a part of an Arts Night where the Tipler/ALPs 7th and 8th grade choir, band, and orchestra students will perform in the gym from 7:00 - 8:00 PM. 

Please join us for this celebration of our art and music students’ learning this school year!
 
**All artwork in the show is welcome to be taken home by their creator and/or family after the Arts Night has concluded.**

 

 

Newspaper needed!

The art rooms are always looking for newspaper donations to use with projects.  Please consider saving any newspapers and drop them off at school or send them with your student(s).

     *Cars are NOT allowed in the circle drive.
     *Please DO NOT stop or stand on Eagle Street.

Attendance Procedure at ALPs Charter School

Parents/guardians are expected to notify the school by 9am on the day of absence.   
Call 920-424-0349 - leave a message if the secretary does not answer. 
ABSENCE REASONS:
*APPOINTMENT - state the date and time of the appointment.
*PERSONAL EXCUSE - you do not need to give a reason, but you can if you would like.
*ILL - state your child's symptoms or if they have received a diagnosis from a doctor. If more information is needed, a school nurse may give you a call back.
*VACATION - state the dates your child will be absent and when they are returning to school.
