Art News

From Mrs. Meyer

On April 23, 2024, the students’ artworks that earned a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place award at the local Helen Farnsworth Mears Art Contest/Exhibit went on to the Regional Rivers & Lakes District Art Contest, where judging took place in Green Bay.  Three students’ work were recognized:

*Thatcher S (ALPs) took 1st place for his 3D ceramic truck, and earned an honorable mention for his truck and landscape 2D drawing.

*Katie W took 2nd place with her 3D papier-mache turtle sculpture.

*CiCi E (ALPs) earned an honorable mention for her 2D mixed media creation of a woman with a mask.

Thatcher and Katie’s regional-winning artworks will be judged at the state level of competition very soon.

Way to go Thatcher, Katie, and CiCi!

The Annual Tipler/ALPs Art Show will take place Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 5-7pm in the Perry Tipler Middle School cafeteria.  Both two and three-dimensional artwork from art students from this school year will be on display.  Come see the talents and creativity of the art students of Perry Tipler Middle and ALPs Charter Schools.  Stay to watch and listen to the Tipler/ALPs orchestra students perform their spring concert after the art show.

**All artwork in the show is welcome to be taken home by their creator and/or family after the Art Show has concluded.

Mrs. Meyer is always looking for newspaper donations for use in her classroom.  Please drop off any newspaper donations to Perry Tipler’s main office, or to room 202.  Any help would be appreciated!

After 25 years at Perry Tipler Middle School, along with all the other schools that were apart of this building, Mrs. Meyer will be moving on to teach art at Oshkosh West High School beginning this fall.

FROM MRS. MEYER:
“It has been a pleasure working with the students, staff, and families of Tipler, ALPs, Green Meadow, and Sunset schools over the years.  Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your middle/elementary school experiences.  I look forward to seeing students again at West in years to come.”

If you have any question or concerns regarding art projects or goings-on in the art room,

  4. Sign up a Golf Team ($70/player or $280/team)
  5. Volunteer the day of the event to help.
  6. Monetary donation ($ Varies)
If you can help with any of these items, they can be dropped off to Sarah Poquette in the office.  If you are interested in playing golf, please email Jamie Horn at jamie.horn@oshkosh.k12.wi.us
